7 Ways To Live A Purposeful Life

Life can move at a very fast pace that can be sometimes hard to keep up with; with the “go, go, go” mentality that can make things feel like they are moving in a blur around you as you work towards trying to make it to work on time, get your job done and all of the other daily tasks at home – cooking, cleaning, bills and exercise. Let’s not forget that it becomes harder when you have children.
All of those factors are a big part of why most people will flop onto their couch and watch television once they get home. Distractions like social media and YouTube become our hobbies and it can also feel like our lives lose purpose overall. There have been a number of movements to help people find a way to live their lives with purpose. The following seven tips can help one find the right balance in living with purpose.

Self-care

While prioritizing needs, it’s important to make sure you plan for time to reward yourself through getting out of the house or taking a vacation. Taking time away from everything can be one of the best ways to reduce the chances of burning out or being filled with harmful stress that can lower your immune system and overall health.

Take time to breathe

Even a simple five or 10 minutes of basic meditation can allow yourself to get centered in the middle of a chaotic day at the office. Taking time to focus on your breathing will allow yourself to be able to remove yourself from what is causing you stress at work or home. Afterwards, you return with a clear mind to re-evaluate the situation of the day.

Become organized

It is better to have an organized and set schedule so that you have a better chance of getting everything you want done during the week. Because we often sleep about eight hours and work another eight hours, we often find ourselves trying to figure out what to do with the other eight hours. Plan to make sure you are finding a purpose for that time you have every day.

Focus on being happy

Happiness is something you choose to be; and more times than not, we often choose to be stressed out and angry with life. The best thing you can do for your mental sanity is to think about the positives instead of reflecting on everything that went wrong at work.
